“學(xué)霸”被困電梯內(nèi)5小時(shí),依然淡定寫作業(yè) A 14-year-old Chinese boy overcame two of humankind’s most dreaded fears –getting stuck in an elevator and getting homework done, in a single night thanks to his quick-witted character. 在一個(gè)晚上,一個(gè)14歲的中國少年克服了人類史上的兩大恐懼:電梯中被困和家庭作業(yè)的完成。這多虧了他聰敏的個(gè)性。 Sun Yixiao was on his way up on Tuesday evening after school, when the lift suddenly lurched to a stop. A moment of panic followed, before the teenager decided to take matters into his own hands and find a way out. 周二晚上放學(xué)后,孫軼瀟乘坐電梯回家,可是電梯突然故障停止運(yùn)行。驚慌隨之而來,然而這個(gè)少年很快鎮(zhèn)定下來,他決定把控局面,尋找逃生出路。 Sun said he tried to pry open the elevator door, but dismissed the idea and instead leaned against the wall concerned there could be a malfunction that would send the elevator in a free fall. 孫說他曾想撬開電梯門,但是他放棄了這個(gè)想法。相反,他背靠電梯墻,考慮到電梯出了故障,可能會(huì)放任下墜。 He then pressed all the buttons in the hope to get the elevator to work again, but to no avail. Sun then punched the “stop” button, to lock the elevator and secure it won’t move. 寄希望于電梯可能會(huì)再度恢復(fù)運(yùn)行,他隨即按下所有樓層的按鈕,但是并沒有奏效。于是,孫按下“停止”按鈕,鎖住電梯,確保不會(huì)再下墜。 Without a cellphone at hand, Sun tried yelling to get the attention of people outside, but no one responded as time passed by. 孫沒帶手機(jī),他嘗試大聲呼救以引起外面人的注意,但是時(shí)間一分一秒地流過,沒有人回應(yīng)他。 But the young boy still had on last trick up his sleeve before surrendering. 少年依然沒有放棄,他還藏有一手。 He slipped a note through the door with the message “People stuck inside, please ask the property management for help,” and hoped someone would pick it up and act on it. 他通過電梯門遞出一張紙條,上面寫著“有人被困在電梯內(nèi),請(qǐng)叫物業(yè)來幫忙。”希望有人可以撿到,來救他。 After exhausting all his options, the practical kid decided to tend to his academic responsibilities, not knowing how long it would take before someone finds him. He took out his textbooks and busied himself with his daily homework routine. 在做完所有他能做的自救措施后,這個(gè)務(wù)實(shí)的孩子不知道還要多久才會(huì)有人來救他,于是他決定做家庭作業(yè)。他拿出教科書,開始忙于家庭作業(yè)。 Soon after he finished his duties, Sun heard loud voices coming from outside. 完成作業(yè)不久,孫軼蕭就聽到外面嘈雜的響聲。 “There was a large crowd outside, including my teachers and other parents, people looked quite agitated,” Sun said of the moment he was rescued. “(電梯)外面很多人,有我的老師,別的家長們,他們看起來都非常焦急,”孫在獲救時(shí)說。 He had been stranded for five hours by the time help arrived. 截止被救時(shí),他在電梯內(nèi)被困了5個(gè)小時(shí)。 The boy’s anxious mother, who had searched frantically for her son in vain, was finally relieved. 孫軼瀟的媽媽瘋狂尋找他,卻一無所獲,焦急萬分的母親最后終于長出一口氣,放下心來。 On China’s Twitter-like Weibo, many netizens thumbed up the boy’s bravery and calmness in the face of such emergency. 在中國微博平臺(tái),很多網(wǎng)民為男孩危急情況下的勇敢、淡定點(diǎn)贊。 “The guy must have weighted the pros and cons of the situation: he had a great chance to survive a stranded elevator, but would have been doomed if he left homework undone,” joked @Zealshifang. “這個(gè)家伙對(duì)當(dāng)前情況作了利弊權(quán)衡:他有很大機(jī)會(huì)從故障電梯逃生,但是如果家庭作業(yè)沒完成,他會(huì)很倒霉?!盄Zealshifang調(diào)侃。 |
